Leonardo graduated in Computer Engineering at Università degli studi di Palermo (Italy), with his final year dissertation on the subject “Opinion dynamics and stubbornness through mean-field games” in 2013, after receiving the departmental scholarship to study for one year and a half in the bachelor’s programme at USI, Università della Svizzera Italiana (Switzerland), in the faculty of Informatics. In 2016, he received his master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics from the university La Sapienza (Italy), where the dissertation involved a joint work with the team of Università Tor Vergata for the EU project “Superfluidity”.
He is conducting PhD research into network topology in collective decision making through game theory under the supervision of Dr Roderich Gross and Dr George Konstantopoulos in the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering, University of Sheffield.
His main research interests are collective decision-making models, in unstructured and structured (complex networks) environments, with the aim of studying stability under perturbation and the mean-field game equilibria. His interests include game theory, artificial intelligence, multi-agent systems, machine learning and their applications.
He worked as Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) at the University of Sheffield to deliver lectures, mark students' reports and to demonstrate in labs for the following courses:
