Research community

Research excellence sits at the heart of the department and influences everything we do. Key to our world-leading research is our thriving and vibrant research community.

Off

This community includes all academic staff, researchers, technicians, administrative staff and students, and seeks to bring people together, promote discussion and celebrate success.

We invite people from all over the world to become part of our research community in a variety of events throughout the year, including seminars and symposiums. We also celebrate our successes in research from our staff and students. You can keep up to date with what is happening in ACSE with our news and events area.

Seminar series

Promoting Discussion – our regular seminar series allows our staff to get together to hear from a distinguished speaker and discuss their research. The seminar series reaches across the full range of our research, and involves speakers from across the world.

We hold a number of seminars throughout the year, including our annual Harry Nicholson Lecture in May.

If you are interested in attending a seminar, require more information or wish to speak at the department, please email renata.goddard@sheffield.ac.uk.
