Biopic

I received a BS degree in Mathematics in 2004 and a MSc degree in Computer Science in 2006 from Jacobs University Bremen, Germany. I completed my PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the University of California, Merced, in 2009. From 2010 to 2012 I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Robotics Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, USA, and the University of Pittsburgh, USA. From 2012 to 2013 I was a postdoctoral fellow at Link√∂ping University, Sweden. Since October 2013 I have been a Lecturer in the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering at the University of Sheffield, UK. My research interests are in planning for multi-robot systems, pursuit-evasion, graph theory, cooperative robotics, and machine learning.

Research Interests

My research goal is to provide a scientific and practical foundation for the design of multi-robot systems. In particular, I aim to understand how we can enable the design of complex and flexible multi-robot systems for real world problems. To this end, I study multi-robot systems for search and monitoring of vast environments. My approach encompasses the design of models, formal analysis, design and implementation of algorithms, as well as building, testing, and evaluating real systems with human operators.
