My research is focussed on developing and applying tools to genetically engineer microalgae (primarily Chlamydomonas reinhardtii) for the production of high-value terpenoid chemicals, and to further improve these organisms as chassis for industrial biotechnology. I am also interested in combining -omics techniques to identify and target areas of C. reinhardtii metabolism to manipulate with the aim of enhancing product yield.

2015-Present – Postgraduate researcher in the department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, University of Sheffield, UK.

2015 - Graduated from the University of Sheffield with an integrated Master’s degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology (MBiolSci). Master’s project involved examining the carotenoid biosynthetic pathway in the photosynthetic bacterium Rhodobacter sphaeroides, and exploring the structure and function of a key enzyme in this carotenogenic pathway.
