Alumni take on 100km Challenge
In July, a team of Sheffield alumni and current students will be undertaking Trailwalker UK, a sponsored walk in aid of Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust.
Tom Rhodes, Jon Sparkes, Steve Midgley and James Fox, otherwise known as the Sheffield Muckers, have taken on the significant and daunting challenge to walk 100kms (62 miles) across the South Downs from Petersfield to Brighton.
Sounds easy? Not when you know they only have 30 hours to complete the walk!
Tom says, "Training and other logistical preparations have already begun as we try to ensure success in July. This is a physical and mental challenge for all of us; one that we hope will bring personal satisfaction and a real sense of achievement. However, there is a more important outcome in that we hope to raise some money for Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust."
