Alumni attend dinner at the House of Commons
The House of Commons played host to a special alumni dinner earlier this month. The event was hosted by Nick Clegg MP, the Liberal Democrat Shadow Home Secretary and MP for Sheffield Hallam. It gave alumni the opportunity to catch up with friends in a prestigious location and to hear about the latest developments both at the University and in Sheffield.
Despite snow and a severe weather warning, 90 guests braved the elements to enjoy a drinks’ reception overlooking the Thames and a four-course dinner in the House of Commons’ Churchill Room. After dinner the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bob Boucher, gave guests an update on the progress being made at the University. This was followed by Mr Clegg who highlighted the important link between the city of Sheffield and the University.
Due to the popularity of the dinner, we hope to add a regular London alumni event to our events’ programme.
