Sheffield Steelers play host to University networking event

The Sheffield Hallam FM Arena played host to a very special networking event this month. The Sheffield Steelers jointly hosted the event with the University, in the VIP arena club marquee.

It provided a fantastic opportunity for alumni, local businesses, staff and friends to all come together and discuss the latest developments at the University and the Sheffield Steelers, whilst enjoying the game between the Steelers and Newcastle Vipers.

After a brief introduction from the Steelers representatives, the guests were provided with a motivational speech from David Matsos, the head coach of the team. Then a short presentation about what makes a successful team, delivered by Angela Carter from the Institute of Work Psychology.

Once the game began, guests enjoyed all the action from a special balcony area and one lucky guest even watched the second period from the hot tub! Overall, the night was a great success and really emphasised the importance of collaboration between local businesses, the University and alumni.

It was also a good night for the Steelers, who came back from 2-0 down to win 4-3.
