The Development and Alumni relations office has been reconnecting with its alumni across the world over the past few months taking a piece of Sheffield to New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Brussels and London.
Government now matches your donations
There´s now a great added incentive for you to make a donation to support our University. For every £1 you donate, the University will receive an extra 33p from the UK government under their new Matched Funding for Universities scheme.
Students' charity bid for Christmas number one
Students from the University of Sheffield are hoping to raise thousands of pounds for charity after gaining permission to re-record Band Aid's 1980s hit Do they know its Christmas?
University celebrates 60 years of Dutch
The University of Sheffield celebrated 60 years of teaching Dutch with a special event attended by Nick Clegg MP and the Netherlands Ambassador, Mr Pim Waldeck, as well as 75 alumni and guests.

A former MBA student at City College, in Thessaloniki Greece has conquered Mont Blanc and waved the University of Sheffield flag at the summit.

Middle Eastern ruler honoured by University
The Ruler of Sharjah, the third largest emirate of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), received an honorary degree from the University of Sheffield on 10 November 2008 in recognition of his distinguished contributions as both a statesman and scholar.
Graduates develop walking aid that helps children with brittle bones
Two engineering graduates from the University of Sheffield have designed a special walking frame for children with brittle bones, who are too small for normal walking aids.
University staff raise money for Children in Need
Staff at the University participated in a flight simulator Red Bull Air Race on the 14th November to raise funds for Children in Need.
