Alumni Sports Day – Saturday 19 March 2016

Over 200 alumni returned to Sheffield for the annual Alumni Sports Day. Twenty-four teams, consisting of alumni who graduated in the last fourteen years, took part in the Football Tournament, which took place on the upper and lower pitches at Goodwin Sport Centre, Sport Sheffield.

On site catering from the University’s ACS team provided teams and spectators with much needed refreshments and food to keep them going during the day’s tournament.

Winners of the trophy and this year’s tournament champions were ‘Fly me to the Moon’, with ‘FC 79’ taking the runners up position.

After a quick freshen up, it was on to Bar One where many more alumni joined those from the Sports Day for a fun evening in their much loved Students’ Union. Pie and peas were served ahead of the alumni pub quiz, which saw teams take on each other to win a cash prize and the bragging rights amongst their fellow alumni.

The night continued in the Students’ Union with Pop Tarts Reunited, taking alumni back in time to their student days and giving them a night of pop pleasure!

The Alumni Relations Team would like to thank Sport Sheffield and the Students’ Union for their involvement in organising the day’s events, which continue to be a highlight in the calendar for Sheffield Alumni around the country.

The next Alumni Sports Day will take place in April 2017. Please check our Calendar of Events for updates.
