Crescent Flats Reunion - Saturday 10 November 2012

Class of 1994 alumni led by Chris Mackintosh

On Saturday 10th November 2012 a group of Sheffield alumni who studied at the University from 1994 and all stayed in Crescent Flats, met at Edale car park in the Peak district for a stroll in the sunshine followed by a Broomhill Pub crawl taking in their old haunts of the Fox and Duck, the now very fancy as opposed to slightly grubby York (Hotel) pub, Broomhill Tavern and Nottinghamshire (their old sports society pub).

The pinnacle of the “18 years since we were 18 reunion” evening was a trip (way too far) down memory lane to the legendary Bar One and Balti King Curry house to see the owner Tony again! The University's Alumni office helped us so much we’d encourage anyone to use them to help sort out their gathering, Bar one guest list and even old pictures of the University.

Hopefully it’s the start of something regular with a total of fourteen children amongst our small group alone and one person (nee Cath Buckland) who couldn’t make it as she had twins in the lead up.

Big thanks in particular to Mike Gurney Geography supremo for flying all the way from Budapest where he now works for Shell.

Our gang included Richard Barry, Richard Earle, Chris Mackintosh, Andy Young, James Sztejer, Jon Inns, Si Branson, Val Austin, Nikky Boss and Chris Love.

The group is getting bigger and meeting again in June 2013. To get in touch with Chris please contact the alumni team in the first instance at alumni@sheffield.ac.uk
