• Applied to the Alumni Foundation in May 2014
• Awarded £330
The Women’s Cricket Club applied to the Alumni Foundation in May 2014. The Club were in need of new equipment for training and matches.
With the grant of £330 awarded, the club purchased a new kit bag, batting gloves and keeping gloves, leg guards, outdoor cricket balls for the summer season, thigh guards and two cricket bats in two different sizes to suit a range of players.
In addition, the grant enabled the club to find a new sponsor for 2014 and the following years ahead. The club is now working alongside Batting 4 6 who share the team’s ambition to get more women involved in cricket.
The new equipment has helped the club make the most out of the sport and has prepared them for upcoming BUCS matches against other northern teams.
Most importantly, the new protective kit provides the team with the necessary safety that they need for a game like cricket.
