Anna Hughes runs for Molar Pregnancy research
On 22 May 2016 friend of the University Anna Hughes took part in the Great Manchester Run to raise funds for Jean’s Research Trust, a project at the University which carries out research into Gestational Trophoblastic Disease and molar pregnancy.
One of only three centres for Trophoblastic Disease research in the UK, Jean's Research Trust aims to make a contribution to current and future research by supporting the excellent work of Sheffield’s Weston Park Hospital and raising awareness of trophoblastic disease. The Trust also helps to fund the patient support website molarpregnancy.co.uk.
From a standing start last September, when she took up running, Anna not only succeeded in completing the Great Manchester Run inside her target time of 1 hour 5 minutes but also exceeded her fundraising target and raised over £450 for Jean’s Research Trust.
More information on Jean’s Research Trust can be found on their website.
