First community event held in aid of the Sheffield Scanner
The Sheffield Scanner campaign has received an early boost in support from the annual Inter HR Quiz Night, held on 3 March at the University Arms.
As soon as quiz organiser Peter Wright saw the message from Professor Shearer West which launched the Sheffield Scanner campaign just a few days before the quiz, he realised there was an opportunity to raise funds to support the campaign. Over £160 was raised through the teams’ entry fees and a raffle.
Thanks must go to Peter Wright for organising the event, to University Arms staff, to the BB’s Italian Restaurant on Devonshire Street for the raffle prizes, and to all who took part.
The quiz winners were Team Organisational Development (featuring Ian Wright) - Runners up were Team Service Support & Engineering. Overall it was a superb night which saw a very close run quiz going in to the last round, however the winners kept their cool winning in the end by 10 clear points - who would have thought Ian would know so many song lyrics?
Peter is also hoping for a re-run later in the year of the Alumni, Corporate Comms and HR quiz night, which would also support the Sheffield Scanner campaign.
This event is a great example of how quickly and simply you can add your support to the Sheffield Scanner campaign.
