LifeBook, The Gift of a Lifetime

Think back to your time at Sheffield and we’re sure that you’ll have endless anecdotes of academic Logoachievements, sporting triumphs and some fairly dubious escapades in between. Added to memories of your childhood, rewarding career and family experiences; no doubt you have a priceless collection of stories to share.
There’s a new way to capture your life stories and create an autobiography to share with the family. LifeBook, a social business, has devised a unique experience to help people write their autobiography that is both enjoyable and excellent value.

LifeBook founder Roy Moëdbecame a passionate advocate for life story telling when his father was writing his book. “I discovered that we had an ancestor who was King of Poland for one day! Capturing my father’s story gave me the inspiration for LifeBook – it’s a superb way to rekindle family relationships, capture family history and create a powerful legacy for our children and grandchildren. I also realised how much I valued the everyday stories, not just the great events.”

ManyLifeBook authors have brought to lightunexpected stories which have surprised and amused their families. One author describes a youthful adventure on the Nile whenhe and a friend became possibly the first people ever to water-ski on the river.Another reminisces about her first experience of young love, and her father’s glaring disapproval!

The LifeBook experience encompasses 3-6 months of face-to-face interviews, creating a professionally ghost-written autobiography. The author is presented with 10 hardback, professionally printed and bound copies to share with the family. Each book contains up to 160 pages, around 60 captioned photographs and personalised cover.

Whether LifBook is bought as a celebration of a loved one’s life, an appreciative gift, or an opportunity for personal recollection, the experience is an unforgettable journey through life’s stories. Our friends at LifeBook have offered to contribute to the College development fund; for every LifeBook bought by a Sheffield Alumnus, £325 goes to the University development fund.

Capture yourown or a loved one’s life stories and help Sheffield University too.
