Speed Networking: Chemical & Biological Engineering

9th December 2014, 34 students, 10 alumni.

Speed Networking events allow students to talk to alumni from a variety of industries and sectors to find out more about the career options open to them. The event also aims to boost the confidence of students and develop their networking and communication skills.

Alumni involvement

Alumni spoke to students in small groups for 10 minutes at a time before rotating to the next group of studnets. Alumni discussed their own career paths and provided advice to students. The “speed networking” was followed by informal networking, allowing students more time to ask additional questions.

Results

Students found out more about their options post-graduation and gained valuable experience of networking in a friendly environment.
