Sheffield Connections - Charles Mynors

Sheffield Connections offers students from a widening participation background the chance to meet inspirational and successful alumni. A small group of students meet the graduate in an informal, relaxed setting over tea and cake. Students are then able to ask questions about the graduate’s time at Sheffield and career, as well as discussing their own career options or University choices.

Alumni Involvement

Charles Mynors, MA Town and Regional Planning 1977, Barrister at Francis Taylor Building volunteered his time to speak to students and offered them valuable, personal advice on both the legal and planning industries, as well as sharing information about his own career path and interests.

The Results

Students found out more about a career in Law and Planning, whilst increasing their confidence of networking in a friendly environment. The meeting with Charles also gave the students the opportunity to seek advice on their own career choices.
