Sheffield Connections - Mo Sacoor

Sheffield Connections offers students, including those from a widening participation background, the chance to meet inspirational and successful alumni. A small group of students meet the graduate in an informal, relaxed setting over tea and cake. Students are then able to ask questions about the graduate’s time at Sheffield and career, as well as discussing their own career options or University choices.

Alumni Involvement

Mo Sacoor, MBChB Medicine 1963, Chairman at Sacoor Medical Group volunteered his time to speak to students and offered them valuable, personal advice on both the medical research and social media start-up industries, as well as sharing information about his own career path and interests.

The Results

Students found out more about a career in medical research and start-up investment, whilst increasing their confidence of networking in a friendly environment. The meeting with Mo also gave the students the opportunity to seek advice on their own career choices. Following the event Mo exchanged details with a number of students and has continued to support them with their careers.
