Opportunities for employers
There are a number of good reasons to recruit students or graduates from the Department of Animal and Plant Sciences to help your organisation succeed. We equip our students and graduates with a wide range of transferable and specialist skills, academic knowledge and a professional, enthusiastic approach, which can help you achieve your objectives.
Whether you require assistance with a short-term project, are an experienced graduate recruiter, are new to recruitment or would like to test the water by offering a placement or internship, we can help.
The University of Sheffield Careers Service provides tailored support to organisations seeking to advertise vacancies, raise their profile or develop closer links with the university. By gaining a good understanding of your needs and resources and using our internal networks, we can work with you to develop and deliver an effective recruitment campaign. Visit the Careers Service website for more information, or see below for details of specific schemes and events.
As well as normal work placements outside of term-time, one of the opportunities we offer our undergraduates is a Degree with Employment Experience. Here students spend a year of their degree working for an organisation related to their studies, putting their scientific skills into practice and gaining valuable work experience. We have also made it possible for students to do their third-year research projects with organisations outside the university.
If you are interested in offering work experience to one of our students, please contact Dr Dylan Childs (email: firstname.lastname@example.org, tel: 0114 222 4313).
