Roles in Blackboard (MOLE)
Roles control access to the content and tools within a course. Each user is assigned a role for each module they participate in.
The role is set when a user is enrolled. After enrollment, you can edit the role from the Control Panel.
The following list includes the default course roles:
- Module Lead Instructor
- Programme Lead Instructor
- Module Administrator
- Programme Administrator
- Course Builder
- Teaching Assistant
- Guest Student*
* This role can only be added by Module / Programme Lead Instructors and Module / Programme Administrators. This role behaves the same as the student role, and would typically be given to guest students, or students assisting other students. This role does not feature in the grade centre and cannot submit any assignments
