Digital Learning training, events and advice slots
The Digital Learning Team provide a range of versatile training, support and advice opportunities for staff in the use of technology in learning and teaching. This includes the team's flagship TELFest conference, Elevate workshops, online communities, and regular advice slots. Bespoke sessions can be arranged for teams, departments or faculties.

Digital Learning training is run as part of Elevate which supports and enables all academic staff to engage in professional development opportunities, enhance their teaching, share their practice and celebrate their achievements.
A number of short sessions are available on a range of technologies, including the use of Blackboard, assessment tools, e-portfolios, classroom engagement tools and much more.

The Digital Learning Team run regular face-to-face advice slots on Wednesdays, where colleagues can ask Learning Technologists questions on any aspect of Digital Learning, no matter how broad or specific. These are run more frequently during busy times of the year.
During the coronavirus pandemic these are running throughout the week and are held online.
TELFest is the University of Sheffield's Festival of Technology Enhanced Learning, with a mix of workshops, lectures, debates and exhibitions.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic we have taken the decision to cancel TELFest 2021. TELFest will return and want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support.
Elevate Digital Retreats
The Digital Retreats provide space to realise your ambitions to develop innovative digital learning and teaching projects. Over two intensive days, a team with technical and educational development expertise work with you to produce a solution to take back to your department and into your teaching.
The Digital Learning Team run a number of online communities to help colleagues network and learn from each other on aspects of Digital Learning.
Encore Meet-ups - share good practice, hear about service updates and access support to use lecture capture effectively in your teaching
Immersive Technologies Special Interest Group - a community interested in virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and 360 degree media, for both research and teaching applications - all welcome
Learning Technologists Community - a space of learning technologists to share good practice and peer support
Online Teaching Community - an ideas sharing space for staff involved in online programmes and distance learning
TEL Community - a place for staff interested in using technology to enhance their teaching to share ideas
