I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Politics and Social Policy from The University of Stirling in June 2015, following a 4 year degree which included a semester abroad at The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M. I began an MA in Social and Public Policy at The University of Leeds in September 2015, graduating in December 2016. Throughout my MA I focussed on WP’s wider policy context and effectiveness to date, as well as the specific implementation and evaluation of WP interventions, completing both: a policy report comparing WP performance across Scottish HEI’s, and an evaluation of a summer school outreach programme. I started as a researcher and evaluator with WPREU at the University of Sheffield in December 2016.
I have a broad interest in all aspects of WP research and evaluation: from developing evaluative methodologies and frameworks for the WP context to better incorporating research and theory into policy and practice. I am also interested in comparing the WP landscape across the devolved administrations and beyond, looking for ways in which best practice can be translated from one context to the next.
