In celebration of International Women's Day and the culmination of the University's 'Portrait of a Woman' project, Sheffield Archaeologist Professor Maureen Carroll has attended the unveiling of the portrait of Professor Gillian Gehring which will now hang in Firth Hall, one of the Universities best known and most iconic buildings.

Professor Carroll was one of the original 28 women selected to be photographed for the 'Portrait of a Woman' project, which celebrates the contribution of women to Sheffield University.  Maureen is pictured here next to her own portrait, which currently hangs in the Humanities Research Institute at the University as the exhibition makes its way gradually around campus.
