If you’re considering doing a postgraduate programme at Sheffield, you are very welcome to visit us before you apply. You can attend an open day or visit us any time by getting in touch with relevant staff in the department. Postgraduate Open Days are a great opportunity to talk to staff about your subject area, the University, the city of Sheffield and meet other postgraduates who will share their experiences. On a University Open Day you can visit departments, take a tour of the campus, the Students' Union and our accommodation. There are talks about funding, careers, research and many more things that matter to you. On a visit to us you can:
- Find out about further study of a subject you love, about learning new skills or trying something new.
- Find out how you could enjoy studying at a top-100, research active , Russell Group university.
- Visit the department and see our facilities including purpose-built research labs.
- Chat to staff and current students.
- Meet the programme director of the Masters course(s) you are interested in.

1:30pm Arrival and Refreshments
Join some of our staff and student representatives on your arrival for refreshments.
2:00pm Welcome to the Department
by the Head of Department, Dawn Hadley.
by the Head of Postgraduate Taught Programmes, Umberto Albarella.
2:30pm Department Tour (optional)
Take a tour of the department and see some of our teaching facilities.
2:45pm Refreshments and opportunity speak to PGT programme directors / student ambassadors
Another chance to find out answers to any specific questions you might have or to have a last chat with our staff and students.
If you’re interested in studying for a Masters at Sheffield but you are not able to come to visit, we encourage you to get in touch with us to ask any questions that you may have, before or after submitting your application. We can also arrange a Skype meeting and provide you with thte opportunity to talk to past and or current students.
