Dress codes in Ancient Rome: Clothing in a socio-cultural context.

This project concerns the clothing of civilians – men, women and children of various social classes - in the city of Rome during the period of ca 50 BCE- 100 CE. The discussion will concern clothing as a way of communicating status, gender, age, social and ethnic identity.
