Are you interested in getting a degree in Archaeology, but don’t want to study full-time? This degree option is for you.

Our BA Archaeology, Part-time, is an honours degree programme taught in the Department of Archaeology. You will study alongside our full-time students and have the opportunity to participate in the field, lab and placement opportunities offered by the Department.

The BA Archaeology, Part-time, gives you an excellent foundation in all aspects of World archaeology. It allows you to build on this with specialist modules, ranging from ancient Egypt to experimental archaeology. The course is exceptionally flexible and any aspiring archaeologist will find a range of optional specialist modules to suit their interests.

Information relates to 2017-18 academic year: The content of our courses is reviewed annually to make sure it is current and relevant. Individual modules may be updated or withdrawn in response to discoveries through our world-leading research, funding changes, professional accreditation requirements, student or employer feedback, curriculum review, staff availability, and variations in student numbers. In the event of a material change the University will inform students in good time and will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption.

As a part-time student, you will study for your BA Archaeology over a period of six years, with each level taking two years to complete.

In Level 1 (years 1&2), you will acquire a global perspective on human origins and world civilizations and be introduced to the archaeological research process.

In addition to our Archaeology modules, you have the choice of optional modules also taught by our Department of Lifelong Learning , which are offered in the evening.

Level 1 core and optional modules include:
