Profile

My research sits at the intersection of two key areas: (1) Design Studies, Architectural Computing and Digital Architecture (DADA), and (2) Architectural-Urban Science and Climate (AUSC). I have a sustained track record in research grant capturing from a variety of funding sources in the UK and abroad. I have produced over 80 publications as research outputs, 26 published in peer-reviewed international journals, 50 peer-reviewed internal conferences, more are under review and in preparation. I am currently leading a team of one postdoctoral research associate and six PhD students working in the field of Architectural and Urban Science with projects on city-scale housing stock energy modelling, indoor air quality and energy modelling of institutional building stocks, vegetation and urban air quality modelling, urban community solar micro-grid optimisation.

My teaching portfolio covers subject areas encompassing Design Studies, Digital Architecture and Environmental Simulation. Foremost among my priorities has been i) the continued engagement with dissertation/thesis modules at the UG, MArch, PGT levels; ii) directing the MSc programme on Digital Architecture and Design (DAAD)in line with institutional priorities on employability and entrepreneurship; and iii) integrating advanced environmental simulation into sustainable design for climate change adaptation at the MSc level. Being a Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), I have consistently put research-led teaching into practice and engaged with institutional strategic priorities in higher education.
