MSc Sustainable Architecture Studies
How has your degree experience helped you in your career?
I am currently working in the design department of a construction enterprise, I use all my architectural knowledge for it. The knowledge I gained on the sustainable architecture studies programme is currently required in some of the projects, however, we are trying to integrate the sustainable design strategies into our work as much as possible.
Is architecture still part of your life?
Of course, I am now more sure about how to manage the natural resources such as light, water, wind with the purpose of decreasing the energy consumption in buildings.
Where did life take you after graduation?
At the beginning I started working for a small enterprise designing for them and now I'm starting to work on projects with a partner in our own business.
What is your current job like?
Normally I work on design and projects at home and have meetings with clients or with my partner in the afternoon to organise the agenda, we have a lot of projects and hopefully we will continue to grow.
What advice would you give to a current Architecture student?
Apply the new knowledge in your own town's project from the beginning, a lot of queries come after leaving the university when you try to adapt factors in a different scenario, and you don't have your tutors anymore.
Is there anything else you would like to share with students?
Join a society, try new sports or activities. They have loads of different societies to learn new skills and get involved with other cultures. Get out from your comfort zone, and enjoy it.
