Profile

I have obtained a master's degree in Physics and three years of research work experience prior to joining SSoA as a Graduate Student in October 2018. I have also undertaken a training on environmental sustainability conducted by Grantham Center for Sustainable Futures.

Research interests

Project title: 
Optimizing energy services in rural mini-grids

Project outline:
Off-grid renewable energy services, especially standalone mini-grids, have the potential to uplift the quality of life and increase economic opportunities for rural communities in developing world. There are many factors involved in making mini-grids achieve long-term sustainability such as cost-effective planning, regulatory frameworks for tariff plans, mini-grid system design tailored to the community needs, timely operations and maintenance, etc.

In this project, first, we are exploring mini-grid planning, operations, and maintenance from the demand-side approach. Then we focus on a bottom-up method to estimate the initial energy demand from the community, understand energy demand growth and device energy demand-side management framework to aid the future-proof design of a mini-grid.
