Congratulations to Katie Fisher from the Strutt lab who was awarded the Inaugural Krebs Institute Development Prize at the Krebs Institute Symposium on 14th June.

This year’s Symposium saw the awarding of the inaugural Krebs Institute Development Prize for life science research, in mechanistic biology, carried out by an early career scientist at the University of Sheffield.

The award aims to recognize achievement and future potential of an outstanding young scientist and the prize included a £250 honorarium. Applications were accepted from PhD students and post-doctoral researchers at the University of Sheffield working within the area of mechanistic biology.

Katie was chosen as the winner following short talks from 5 selected abstract submissions at the Symposium. We are very pleased to also congratulate Zhen Jiang from the Wilkinson lab who was also shortlisted for the prize.
