Travel & Public Transport
Sheffield is often described as the ‘big village’, and it is easy to travel on foot from the city centre to the University. The city's hills mean that you are never too far away from a good view!
Alternatively, our transport systems, particularly Sheffield's excellent Tram service, make it simple to get from A to B. Take a look at our Local Public Transport guide for further information. In addition to this, Travel South Yorkshire covers all Sheffield public transport options, including ticket price details and a handy journey planning tool.
If you're coming by road, the Sheffield Parkway will take you from the M1 to the city centre in five or ten minutes, traffic dependent.
There is a pay and display Q park across the road from The Octagon, where BCUR18 is being held.
If you are coming by train the nearest stations to the University are Sheffield and Meadowhall. Both are a short tram journey away from the University, or you can walk from the Sheffield Station.
