Students celebrate at annual society ball

BMS Soc ball main

The annual BMS SOC ball returned last month, seeing almost 300 Biomedical Science undergraduate students from across years one, two and three celebrating at the glitzy event in Sheffield City Centre.

Organised by the BMS SOC student committee, the Midsummer Night's Dream themed event was a roaring success, not only giving the students a well earned break before end of year exams begin, but also providing an opportunity to raise additional funds for the Sheffield Children's Hospital, the society's affiliated charity for 2018/19.

A raffle on the night of the ball, which raised £111.53 is just one of the creative activities that the society have organised this year having held an open mic night, bake sale, and even a student-staff skydive - all in aid of the Children's Hospital.

BMS SOC is the Department of Biomedical Science's student society, run by students for students at all levels, organising events and fundraising activities throughout the year to help students to make the most out of university life.
