Science Photo Library (SPL)
Science Photo Library is a subscription resource paid for by the Library, providing scientific images and video clips for educational use.
SPL contains some royalty free images, but the majority of the material remains the copyright of Science Photo Library, so should only be used within the University (ie: posted on password protected online environments such as MOLE/Google Drive but not shared beyond that).
University members can search for Science Photo Library via StarPlus, or access directly via the Library SPL webpage.
Access is a two stage process: users will need to be logged into MUSE to access Science Photo Library, but they will also need separate University of Sheffield login details in order to download images.
Full instructions on how to access, log in and download images are available on the SPL site (this page also gives advice on copyright).
