Leveraged collaborative research funding - examples of our water projects

Our culture of developing partnerships with industry, and efficient and integrated funding bid processes, makes doing business with us easy. Working with industry and a variety of UK and EU funding sources we have levered over £15m for water related research since 2000.

Enabling Change through the Adaptation Planning Process. Working with a number of urban utilities in Europe and worldwide to develop advanced strategies to meet anticipated challenges in the water supply and sanitation sectors brought about by climate change.

With increasingly stringent regulations governing discolouration, our leading international research is essential to maintain water quality compliance whilst also allowing for pro-active management, justifiable capital/operational cost planning and optimal service provision.

Urban River Corridors And Sustainable Living Agendas. Now completed, this project tackled river corridor issues holistically by treating the river and its urban setting as a system. Throughout the project, innovative solutions, tools and knowledge was developed to help guide the regeneration of urban river corridors worldwide.

Research to develop a new integrated model to predict the exposure to and the health impact assessment of pathogen risks, as indexed by Faecal Indicator Organisms (FIOs), in near-shore coastal waters.

Quantifying Uncertainty in Integrated Catchment Studies. The overall aim of QUICS is to provide high levels of training and carry out research in order to take the implementation of the Water Framework Directive (WFD) to the next level and improve water quality management by assessing the uncertainty of integrated catchment model water quality predictions.
