Services for SMEs
When it comes to recruitment, we recognise the needs of small to medium-sized organisations and appreciate the benefits that working for a smaller organisation can bring to students and graduates.
Our vacancy handling system, Career Connect, allows you to promote graduate jobs, placements, vacation work, part-time/casual work and work shadowing/open days, free of charge, as well as submit queries to us and manage your organisation’s profile all in one place.

An award-winning regional partnership which connects Sheffield City Region's network of innovative and exciting small and medium sized businesses to graduates with energy, enthusiasm and fresh ideas through graduate internships.
The Postgraduate Advantage Scheme (PAS) is open to SMEs, helping you to recruit a PAS intern with a bursary from the University of Sheffield, payable directly to the student.
Having a presence on-campus
One of the most effective ways to find students and prospective graduates is to come onto campus to meet them. We offer range of opportunities for you to meet students and promote your vacancies during term-time, including networking events, informal appointments, coffee drop-ins and bringing a pop-up banner to a high footfall area.
Raising your profile
Raising awareness of your organisation amongst students is essential if you wish to attract them to your business. By delivering skills sessions, mock interviews or holding CV check sessions you can meet students face-to-face, get your organisation's name out there and spot potential recruits.
Connecting to academic departments
If you are keen to attract students from specific disciplines, we can facilitate links to your target departments. Participating in guest lectures, offering projects or supplying case studies which students can work on as part of their course can help you forge strong links.
Arranging site visits
Inviting students onto your premises can give students an opportunity to meet and speak to staff, get a feel for what working for your organisation is really like and enable them to find out more about your business. We can help you arrange an open day, site tour or period of work shadowing.
