We are experiencing an exciting period of growth and diversification in both research and teaching with £3.5m investment in new research facilities and £21m research income in the last five years. Key recent success includes implementation of a new UG curriculum which is taught in the world class Diamond Facility, launch of a new MSc in Pharmaceticual Engienering, opening of the Diamond Pilot Plant, the first of it's kind in any UK unoiversity with a continious powder processing plant, the £11 million funding from the Faraday Institution and a major research collaboration with Unilever, to remove fossil fuels from its supply chain. 

To underpin this growth and to drive forward our ambitious research agenda, we seek to recruit two new Lecturers in chemical and biological engineering.  Candidates with a focus on systems engineering for sustainability/circular economy or process analytical technology and/or data science are encouraged to apply.  However outstanding candidates in other areas of chemical engineering will also be considered.

Location: Sheffield
Salary: £41,526 to £49,553 per annum with potential to progress to £55,750 through sustained exceptional contribution. Grade 8.

As a member of our team, you will develop strategic research interests in Chemical and Biological Engineering and contribute to the Department's international reputation.  You will also contribute to the teaching in Chemical Engineering to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. 

It is essential that you understand UK and EU research funding mechanisms and of the higher education system in the UK and wider afield. You should also have the potential or experience to deliver high quality teaching with a real passion for teaching at all levels and openness to new ways of delivery and assessment.  You will be educated to degree level in Chemical Engineering or another related discipline or have equivalent experience together with a PhD in a relevant subject area or have equivalent experience.
