I graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2012 with a First Class Honours degree in Chemical Engineering. After my undergraduate, I went to University of Cambridge to continue my master study and was awarded MPhil in Advanced Chemical Engineering with Merit in 2013. Before I started my PhD, I took an internship in Particle Products Group here in Sheffield.

Besides my academic life, I have served as the East Asian Representative at International Students’ Committee here at Sheffield Students’ Union for 2 years. I am also a part-time teacher in foundation maths and chemistry at Sheffield International College (SIC).

I started my PhD in November 2013. My PhD study is in collaboration with Johnson Matthey. The research consists of two components. The first part aims to devise a reliable method to produce quantitative measurements of both cohesive and adhesive strength of coating of gamma-alumina. The second part looks at the relative effects of primary powder and primary granules on the strength of resultant granules of boehmite.
