General Assembly Meeting 5

Approximately every six months, the project partners (beneficiaries) of CENTAUR meet in person for a 'General Assembly' meeting.  The fifth meeting was hosted by Veolia Eau in Toulouse, France on 26th and 27th October 2017.  Toulouse will be the site for the second field installation (the 'demonstration' site) of CENTAUR and this meeting provided an opportunity for the partners to visit the selected site and allow final decisions to be made.

The meeting also provided a good opporuntity to discuss the initial results from the first field installation (the 'pilot' site) in Coimbra, PT.  After a very dry 2017, October finally provided some rainfall events to test the CENTAUR system in a live environment.  Initial results show that the system is operating as expected and some early results will be presented at the CIWEM Urban Drainage Group Autumn Meeting.

Other topics of dicussion included the marketing of CENTAUR, including plans for Steinhardt to launch CENTAUR at IFAT in May 2018.  Academic journal papers were also discussed, with a paper investigating the best locations to install flow control devices having been submitted, while papers on the laboratory study and a modelling study comparing static and dynamic flow controls are in preparation.
