Celebrating 50 years of research from the Nobel Laureate Jean-Marie Lehn's research group
Over the weekend of 3rd - 5th of July, Prof Jim Thomas was in Strasbourg to celebrate 50 years of research from the Nobel Laureate Jean-Marie Lehn's research group. Jim was one of almost 200 invited guests, that included fellow ex-members of the group and Prof Lehn's personal friends. The celebrations included a formal welcome by the Lord Mayor of Strasbourg, a dinner in the village in which Lehn was born, and a special two day symposium. The talks at the meeting reflected the 1987 Chemistry Prize winner's broad interests, with speakers including two other Nobel Prize winners and a culinary demonstration jointly presented by Professor of Molecular Gastronomy, Hervé This, and the world famous, multiple Michelin star winning Chef, Pierre Gagnaire.
