Setting Up My Sustainable Print on a Mac

The my sustainable print service features a mono queue for black and white printout and a colour queue for colour printout.

You should set up the mono queue as your default printer and always print to that unless you specifically need colour print.

To set up the print queues on a Mac:

  1. For Mac OSX 10.2-10.5 or earlier, download the installer at: http://stfprtweb.shef.ac.uk/mac/uosmsp.dmg
For Mac OSX 10.6, download the installer at: http://stfprtweb.shef.ac.uk/mac/uosmsp10.6.dmg
For Mac OS X 10.7, 10.8, 10.9, 10.10, 10.11 or later, download the installer at:
    http://stfprtweb.shef.ac.uk/mac/uosmsp906.dmg
  2. If the installer does not start automatically, locate and double-click the .dmg file. Then double-click Popup.pkg. Safari places uosmsp.dmg in your downloads folder, other programs may vary.
  3. In the first three screen of the installer click Continue, Continue, Install
  4. Provide your admin password for your Mac then click Install software
  5. When the installation is complete click the Close button

When printing you will now see a uos-mono and a uos-colour queue.
