Cyber Security Project

This project has been established to assess the current state of cyber security at the University. Once the assessment is complete, we will use the information to help us improve the baseline security we have in place, address any critical risks that are identified and implement a long-term, robust plan to ensure ongoing cyber security.

To replace the existing voicemail platform with a more modern, resilient and feature rich system.

University Website Project 

The project will research and prototype a new external facing website. After an initial focus on student recruitment, the project scope will broaden to the procurement, development and implementation of a new University-wide Content Management System (CMS).

Windows 7 / Server 2008 Migration Project

This project will migrate all CiCS-managed computers across the University running Windows 7 to Windows 10 and will concurrently upgrade all servers running Windows Server 2008.

Recently Closed Projects

Personal Smart Services (UCard replacement) 

To assess the different new technologies available for personal smart services such as cashless payment, electronic purse, access control and personal identification.

Completion date: March 2018

MyAnnounce (GDPR Compliance) 

MyAnnounce has been identified by the GDPR project as a system which is not GDPR compliant due to the lack of recipients being able to opt in and out. This project will look to develop and implement a GDPR compliant solution, along with accompanying policy and process to be in place before the GDPR deadline of 25 May 2018.

PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) 

Achieve University compliance to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS); a global standard organisations must comply to if they wish to accept payment via credit or debit card.

Completion date: June 2018

Campus Network Review

Review of the University’s IT Infrastructure to enable us to ascertain its suitability in supporting the University’s business objectives into the future, highlighting any weaknesses that need to be addressed and recommending solutions to do that.
