Remote Access to iceberg or ShARC
It is perfectly legitimate and possible to access the university HPC facilities 'iceberg' or 'ShARC' remotely, i.e. while not on the University campus, 'for example from home'. The methods described in accessing iceberg or ShARC will work equally well for on or off campus usage.
If you have problems while accessing iceberg or ShARC remotely, it is quite possible that the problem lies with your internet service provider.
Remote Connection to other Linux Servers
If you have an iceberg or ShARC username, it may also be possible to gain full X-Windows access to other Linux servers/workstations within the campus by connecting to iceberg or ShARC first to start an e.g. 'iceberg-terminal' session and then log onto the other servers from there via the command;
ssh -X email@example.com
