MATLAB Introduction

MATLAB is a Scientific, Mathematical and Engineering software package for numerical computation, visualization and application development, with an interactive environment for exploration, design and problem solving.  It runs on Windows, Macintosh and Linux workstations.

It is available for use (free) both on and off campus by staff and students (see below for restrictions).

A new version of MATLAB is released every 6 months.  However CiCS update MATLAB on the Managed Desktop Service annually at the beginning of the Academic year, to provide a stable service during the year.  Versions released from 2016 onwards will be 64-bit only.
