A test message is being sent to all registered staff and students from the University of Sheffield (20 March 2019).

This is part of periodic system testing and no action is required.

University Text Messaging Service

The University central Text Messaging Service can be used to notify all students and staff who have provided their mobile phone numbers in the event of a major incident.

How to submit your mobile number to receive notifications or update your details

Submitting your phone number

If you wish to receive text alerts during major incidents you will need to submit your phone number and update your record whenever it changes.

Students

  1. Sign into MUSE
  2. Click the link to go to myRecord
  3. Click the link to update your student details
  4. Click the Sheffield address link in the left-hand column
  5. Type in or update your mobile phone number
  6. Click the Update address button

Staff

  1. Sign into MUSE
  2. Click My services
  3. Click myJob/myTeam/eRecruitment
  4. Click Personal Profile
  5. Click the Mobile phone link to add your phone number or click the pencil icon next to an existing mobile number to change it
