Join us to celebrate our Centenary
Did you know that in 2017 your Department of Civil & Structural Engineering turns 100 years old?
If you’ve been looking for an excuse to arrange a get-together with all your old classmates, we've done it for you!
On Saturday 20 May 2017 we've arranged a day to celebrate our centenary and we'd like you all to come along and join us. You'll get the chance to see your old department, see how we teach now in our brand new building, meet past and present members of staff, and have a meal and party in the evening.
We're really proud of what we've achieved in the past century and we're excited about our future, and we want to share our celebrations with you.
The afternoon event will begin at 12pm in the Diamond. We will provide you with refreshments and a buffet lunch. We will show you our new engineering teaching building, do some fun stuff in the lab and revisit the good old Mappin building. We aim to finish the visit by around 5:30pm. If you'd like to attend in the afternoon please book a free place here.
The evening event will begin at 7:30pm in Inox Restaurant in the Students' Union. On offer will be a three course meal, drinks, a band, and more importantly, a big party! There'll be plenty of staff, old and new attending, so get ready for a trip down memory lane. Unfortunately booking for the evening event has now closed.
We're also pleased to welcome special guest and alumnus, Dr John Roberts from Jacobs, who will be talking about his work on the British Airways i360.
