I completed my MChem at the University of Durham in 2004. I remained in Durham for a PhD under the supervision of Prof. Neil Cameron (now Warwick/Monash) in the area of synthesis of glycopolymers via RAFT polymerization and their biological properties.
From 2008-2010 I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, University of Oxford, working on the synthesis of “stealth” viruses via surface-initiated ATRP, and the development of immunostimulatory materials.
From 2010-2014 I was a research fellow in the School of Pharmacy, University of Nottingham where I worked on a range projects including DNA, temperature and pH responsive materials for drug delivery and diagnostics, and novel materials for systemic virus delivery.
In Dec. 2014 I was appointed to a Lectureship in the Department of Chemistry where my group works on a wide range of polymer and colloid based research with a focus on the development of advanced materials for healthcare.
