We are pleased to announce that we have secured 10 paid Policy Summer Internships at the Civil Service in Sheffield and they are open to second year Politics students! These opportunities will launch at the panel event and the speakers will be recruiters - this is your chance to find out how to impress on your application form and secure one of these high profile internships.

A previous Policy Intern said: "I knew that after graduating I want to work in either the public or third sector and when considering different avenues prior to the placement, I was interested in learning more about the civil service. In part, this was because the link between the work carried out in the offices and helping those in society was not immediately clear to me. By the end of my time at DWP, I was aware of not only the huge impact policy work can have but the opportunities it presents a civil servant to improve the lives of others"

Event schedule
  • 5pm: Talks from panel members - including a policy analyst, economist and social researcher
  • 6.30pm: Meet the panel - your chance to ask one to one questions and network with policy makers, economists and students who have previously undertaken a placement in the Civil Service.
  • 7pm: Event close
