Current Research

Design of composite interfaces using nanoparticles for a damage resistant and damage tolerant structural system.
Sponsor: Cytec Engineered Material®. Supervisors: Prof C Soutis,Dr A Hodzic.

Profile

AnVan holds a BSc(Hons) in Chemistry and BA(Hons) in English in Vietnam. After completing an MSc(Eng) in Material Science and Engineering from the University of Sheffield in 2007, she continued to do a PhD with Prof C Soutis and Dr A Hodzic in Mechanics of Composite materials. AnVan´s research investigates the ability of applying nanoparticles to create a tougher polymer composite system. The primary application of the research is in aerospace engineering and other fields, such as wind turbines, sport equipments, marine vessels, etc. where advanced composite materials are required for high-performance designs.
