Computer Science run evening course with CodeFirst:Girls for university students wanting to learn programming
CodeFirst:Girls is a charity aimed at helping young women enter tech and entrepreneurship. They do this by running free coding courses and events for University students and recent graduates.
With the help of Dr Heidi Christensen, Dr Stu Wrigley and Chenhao Wu, the department have just hosted the first of such programming courses in the Diamond building. The course was a huge success with 45 participants learning about HTML/CSS, Jquery and Bootstrap. The course finished with a competition that had some very impressive entries.
