    Mouth Stories Event in the Winter Garden 19-20th Sept 2017

    Researchers from the School of Clinical Dentistry and Sociological Studies, will be in The Winter Garden on the 19th and 20th September (10.00 – 4.00) inviting members of the public to tell their 'mouth stories'.

    In addition the team will be show casing some of the work they completed in collaboration with the Universities of Bristol and Edinburgh on the significance of mouth in older age.

    The Dean of our School of Clinical Dentistry has been elected Chair of the Dental Schools Council. Professor Chris Deery will take on the new prestigious role in addition to his teaching responsibilities and honorary consultant in Paediatric Dentistry at Charles Clifford Dental Services. He is also currently Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry and chair of the Consultants in Paediatric Dentistry Group.

    Sheffield 3D Day

    Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, the School of Clinical Dentistry and the 3D Lab have co-organised a second Sheffield 3D Day on the 1st September 2017 at the Diamond, University of Sheffield.

    The event provides an afternoon of presentations related to exploration of 3D within Health with the aim of sharing experiences and looking to the future. Looking at 3D printing, planning, visualisation, aids to learning and navigation.

    Research undertaken at the University of Sheffield School of Clinical Dentistry has found that orthodontic treatment before the age of 18 years improves oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL), with the most improvement being in emotional and social well-being.
