    Professor Paula Farthing has been elected President of the British Society for Oral & Maxilofacial Pathology (BSOMP). The BSOMP is the national body which oversees the specialty and has been in existence since 1967. Prof Farthing will bne the 30th President and the 4th President from the Sheffield School. She wil also be the first ever woman president.

    Following on from winning the Sheffield heat of the RCSEd Dental Skills competition, Hannah Crane attended the Grand Final of the competition in Edinburgh last week. Various dental challenges were assessed including suturing, building up a fractured tooth, root canal treatment and communication skills. Our congratulations go to Hannah Crane who was the overall winner of this prestigious event.
